Climbing Tower
Available to hire in 2 hour segments on site or it can be rented by the day for off site use. The tower has four climbing faces each with an independent self belay for safe usage by young people of all ages. For on site use we will set the tower up and provide trained Scout leaders to safely fit harnesses and connect climbers to the wall. Adults can have a go, too, provided they are within the maximum weight limit.
-
Archery
Archery is available to book as an activity on site. Bows suitable for all ages from eight years upwards are provided. The activity takes place in a special section of the second field well away from all campers and can be booked in 2 hour sessions. The grass is kept short so arrows are easily retrieved after each shooting session.
-
Shooting
A shipping container next to the archery range serves as our shooting range. No guns are kept on site - they are safely stored offsite by our shooting instructor who brings then to site when you book. Can your young people hit the target? Contact us if you would like to book a 2 hour shooting session or tick the box on the booking form.

The Dell Camp Fire Area
The Dell is accessed via a gate in the far corner of the second field. There is a wood store at the top. Any wood not used must be returned to the wood store and stacked neatly please.
There are 20 benches stored next to the wood store adjacent to the camp fire circle in the first field. These benches can be taken to the Dell but please return them to the storgae area before you leave your camp
There is a second smaller camp fire circle in the corner of the first field. When the weather is good and you want a smaller camp fire this is a great place to head to.

Hammock sleeping in the Dell
Putting up hammocks for sleeping in the Dell is becoming an increasingly popular activity for youngsters (and even some of the younger leaders). Make sure the hammocks have a cover over them to protect from the elements, wrap up warmly then lay back and enjoy a wonderful outdoors experience!

Motion Picture Licence
A rainy day, you are staying in Ironstone Lodge and want to keep the young people occupied by showing them a DVD? No problem, head to the second meeting room, connect your laptop to the overhead projector and press play. Each year we pay for a Motion Picture Licence allowing us to show DVDs and videos and streaming at Holwell Pastures. Please note the licence also covers TV broadcasts but we do not have a TV licence which is needed for these. Click on the button below for a copy of our licence valid for 12 months from 01 February 2024 to 31 January 2025
